Accessory review...Freedom I-Connex Bluetooth Keyboard

Well I hope you all enjoyed the extra hour in bed and to those that missed it, only another 364 days to go!

Ok back to the purpose of this post and that is this

The Freedom I-Connex Bluetooth Keyboard.

Whilst the Iphone 4 has a really nice touch keypad, there are times when fat fingered people like me need a decent sized keyboard for writing and this is exactly where the Freedom fits in.

The Freedom is a totally portable keyboard that folds in half and is carried in a leatherette pouch.

and as you can see from the image, it is only slightly larger than twice the Ipod touch it is pictured with.
In addition to the travel pouch, it also comes supplied with 2 AAA batteries which is a nice touch.

The keypad itself is made of durable plastic and when folded out and locked in place by a small slider switch, is nice and rigid and the keys have a lovely, tactile feel to them.

The keys are also a decent size and when depressed, give a nice feedback letting you know that you have pressed them. Even my bucket size hands had no problems using them!
The Freedom also comes with a device stand that stores neatly within the keyboard. This stand, when used on a flat surface, allows the device to sit at the correct viewing angle.

Connecting the Freedom to the Iphone is a breeze, just enter the 4 digit code that pops up when prompted to do so. The Iphone will subsequently remember the bluetooth setting and connect without prompting. A nice touch is that, when not in use, the Freedom will go into sleep mode thus conserving battery life.

Whilst I don't use this keyboard on a daily basis, it is a very handy addition for the times when I know I will be spending time writing with the Iphone and I can certainly see the benefits of owning one if you find yourself using your Iphone as a PDA regularly.

The Freedom was competitively priced at £49.95 at  Apple Iphone 4 Bluetooth Keyboard so with Christmas coming up fast maybe it will make a good present for someone in your family.

What's on my phone? Game Centre games.

Ok time to start the fun stuff. Apps are what everyone associates with the new breed of smart phones. Gone are the days of "Ping Pong" and the likes. For the Iphone series and most likely the Android based smart phones are in the region of 250,000,000 apps (applications).

With the recent firmware upgrade (4.01) , Iphone users now get the Game Centre.

Once signed up it provides the user with a unique gaming name and various options which include, looking up high scores, finding friends to challenge online etc. In this blog I will concentrate on 3 Game Center games I currently play. You never know we might be playing vs each other very soon!

1. Angry Birds. 59p from Itunes.

A simple game where you shoot a variety of birds from a catapult with the intention of killing comic pigs!  This is a pick up and play type game with beautiful graphics and funny sounds. I find it very addictive with the "just one more go" factor there in heaps.

2. Cut the rope. 59p from Itunes.

The object of this game is to feed the sweet to the monster by cutting the ropes attached to the sweet. The actual process of feeding the monster is easy but becomes very tricky when you try to intercept the various stars located on the screen.
Again a very absorbing game, the sweet and ropes perform exactly as you would expect if it were real life!

Last but by no means least

3. Fruit Ninja. 59p from Itunes.

Another simple game idea that is totally engrossing. The idea is to slice the fruit pieces by swiping your finger across the touch screen whilst trying to avoid the bombs. It is game over if you slice a bomb or let 3 bits of fruit fall to the bottom of the screen!
Again this has gorgeous graphics and sounds, maybe one day I will actually post a decent score!

So there are my 3 current favourites. At 59p you cannot go wrong and as all 3 are Game Centre based, not only can you play alone but also online and lets face it, getting one up on your mate is a good thing!

Well I hope you enjoyed the post. My Game Centre name is Keebsuk so chuck me an invite and take pleasure in beating me good and proper!

Saturday is sort my blog site day!

Well I am getting there. Designing a blog site is not for someone with no creative flair to be honest! I have lots of ideas but would appreciate any input into the layout and what visitors would like to see.

All being well I will be doing a couple of Iphone 4 accessory reviews this week and will also include App reviews so you can all see the sort of thing I spend spare time doing, within reason!

I can see the reasons why blogging is so popular.

Well Amanda has just arrived home from riding Charlie so I will post this and pop back later.

I have been very kindly sponsored by

Bare with me as the site will undergo changes until I am happy with the finished article.
